I was just at the gun desk this morning at the Belleville Canadian Tire, and they have 50 Russian SKS's. They are all refurbed, with black bolts, but the numbers all match on the 3 that I saw. Most had laminate stocks...one of them had a chrome bayonet with a laminate handguard and stock...decent looking guns. The mags are pinned different from the others I have seen - they have a hole in the bottom the mag and then a giant rivet type plug goes through that. The upside is the original serial # is not damaged. I saw a 1951 and 1952, and the third had no date on the top cover, but didn't have a little star on the side of the receiver, so I'm not sure what date it was. All the serial #'s matched, so...
I asked the guy at the counter what they were going for, and he said $199, with the accessory pack. Seemed like a good price.

wow the canadian tire here in whitehorse has a sks up forsale for 399.99$ lol

thats crazy pricing when you consider in todays internet world , you can order one from the comfort of your own home from at least a dozen CGN dealers.

They sound like a good deal. Pick one of them bad boys up. I'm sure they will sell fast at CT, and especially since they are priced lower than their Chinese pellet rifles! Personally, I would take the one with the laminate hand guard and chrome (do you mean shiny?) bayonet.

So, I went back for another look - there are 2 of those SKS's that have no date on the top cover, and yet, they have no star or other identifier (except for the serial number) on the receiver. Would these be late model Tula guns? BTW, they also had at least one rifle that was not from the Tula factory - can't remember how you spell or pronounce it, but it was a 1954 model, and it had a triangle in a circle on the cover.

As far as the shiny bayonet - they sure like chrome, but maybe they are just highly polished.

The triangle is izhevsk

punisher; can't find any reference to firearms in canadian tire bellevilles' inventory? 101 bell blvd, belleville am I at the right store?- I'll call in the morning before making the trip !

That's the one..

this Cdn Tire has a rather large firearms section.. optics, ammo, reloading supplies. I dare say they have more selection than Bass Pro in Toronto.
