Just couldn't afford not to buy a job lot of tools. Medium sized mill/drill; Atlas 7B shaper; power hacksaw; Lincoln 225v welder; benchgrinder; all with stands. Lots of quality tooling. All in really fine, cared for condition. The lathe, which went to a family member, was a South Bend 9x24 QC, bench model, which had been bought new. Going to have to seriously rearrange the shop to make room.

it's going to be great to have all that at your fingertips. a LOT of time saved for yourself and better work to boot. good luck. i'm jealous.

I've been interested in a small shaper for quite some time, and then just stumbled across this one. It is small enough that two husky guys can just move it. What is really nice about this lot is that the chap who owned the tools was very serious about his equipment, and looked after everything.

No BS, I was going to say pretty much the same thing.

The Atlas Shaper, and the Atlas mill, were built by a very different thinking design crew, than the Atlas lathes.

The mill and shaper will last 'till the end of time, or damn near. The lathes, not so much. They were built just a little lighter and cheaper than they really had to be.
Good score!

I have a Aamco 7", badged as a Rockwell Delta.

The shaper certainly has a lot of iron in it. Solid little machine. Needs a new motor before any chips can be made. It is the later version with the added support under the box. Came with a manual, parts diagrams, etc, and a decent milling machine type Record vise, which has a swivelling jaw, to hold non-parallel objects.

My shop isn't either. When it was being built, the contractor suggested it would be really easy to extend the first floor out the back, add another room. Three Sonotubes, etc. In hindsight, we should have. Fortunately these additional tools all have rather small footprints. Once I've got everything set up, you should drive up for a visit.

Haliburton is pretty conservative (small c), and has Conservative members in both the provincial and federal legislatures.
We should get together for a BBQ or something. When Hungry hosted the OSA M-14 clinic at MilCun, the CGNers who needed shop facilities came back here. We changed and indexed barrels, etc.
