I'm leaving in about 30min. to go for the first time to ck on mine, its been up for almost a month. Hope I see pics like yours. I put it near the corn feeder I put up last month, I just hope the deer are used to it by now so I have some nice pics.
Maybe we should open a trail cam forum.....

Ok, so I got my first pics from my cam. Not at all what I expected.

Then I figure this cannot be good for deer huntin

I was always told there are no bears in the area I hunt....THEY BE WRONG!! My knowledge of bears is limited, so if any one out there can give me a judgement call on how big(heavy) this bear is I would appreciate it. Would this be a small or med size bear ???

My next question..... Am I correct on the assumption that if a bear is in the area, the deer will not stay???

Like I said I've never hunted in bear country, so any info would be great.

Thanks
Cheers!!

P.S: Notice how the raccoon has no fear of the bear.

My next question..... Am I correct on the assumption that if a bear is in the area, the deer will not stay???

Not true. Saskatchewan has a large black bear population, and they don't drive deer out of an area.
Kinda suprised to see a doe with only one fawn. In my area, for the last two years, every doe I've seen had two fawns (or yearlings). We've had pretty mild winters (for Saskatchewan)

The reason I question if the bear will drive the deer away is that this is not an area where bear are ever seen, and normally have a nice size deer population so I figured I would have many deer pics. The owner of the farm and his friends were all surprised that a bear is around the area. Dam thing bent the spinner plate on my feeder also lol And there is no fall bear hunt in that area.

It's possible that a bear moved into the area, and the deer are spooked because bears aren't common in the area. I dunno. Typically in Saskatchewan, outfitters run black bear and white tail hunts in the same area.
