Welcome arkypete & tinygnat219.

I lived in VA myself for a while. Kirby Rd. in Falls Church in the early 70s for a couple years. Was a zany time.

Good to see you.

Straitshooter,
You wouldn't recognize the area now, Reston's considered a key employment and living center with 70K people living there now.

Amazing that so many folks have stopped by VA! :dancingbanana:

Welcome TJ! :D
Yah, the dancing banana and "runaway" are my faves too! :runaway:
Hey! Maybe we could set up a CGN shoot in Virginy!! :runaway: (see!)

Ontgunner,
That's an option I wouldn't mind exploring, a CGN shoot here in VA. :D

We can also take a tour of the NRA, which is down the road from me and visit the National Firearms Museum.

For those of you that have a UT conceal and carry permit, we have reciprocity with them, so you can use it here. Hi capacity magazines are also legal for pistols AND rifles.

However, why bother with concealed carry? Open Carry is legal here and no permit is required. :dancingbanana:

Places to shoot are kind of limited though and tend to be a long drive from just about anywhere. I will check into some private ranges and will see what the rules are for large groups.

For the political climate, I feel that Northern VA is much like certain parts of Canada, very Liberal and not too gun-friendly. Luckily, the rest of the State keeps it in check, but I don't know how much longer that will be.

Forgot to add reloading is what my wife will name as corespondent in any divorce preceeding.

I think I was married to her sister!
Welcome aboard the board!:dancingbanana:

Welcome aboard guys, from another American (albeit a transplanted one).

I spent some time in Virginia back in '88 or so - stationed in Dam Neck for a while for training and spent many a night cruising the boardwalk in VA Beach just doing what young guys do - mainly looking for local, err, entertainment :D .

Ahhh, Dam Neck! Pretty area (down by VA Beach for those unfamiliar with the area). There are lots of pleasant things to do down there. :dancingbanana:
