$425 for the stoeger and $525 for the Mosberg

reading online they seem to be head to head and comes down to Inertia vs gas...

im in the middle and cant decide...

I dont want some $1200 piece of art. this will be for ducks in the mud and skeet

I would suggest check out shotgunworld dot com and Benelliusa dot com/forum and obtain feedback from real user for the 2000 and 930.

I was looking at the 2000 a while back but finally decided on something else, from the above two forums you should be able to find a lot of info on those two.

Have you check out the MP153 / SPR453?

I voted for the 2000. Not because I wouldn't like the Mossy, but I did own a 2000. It was perfect. It never jammed or failed in any way. It was light and swung beautifuly. I liked the feel and how it came to my shoulder. If I were looking at the Mossberg as a workhorse, shoot it till it's dead gun, I'd look at the 3 1/2 inch. I never trusted these types of guns to reliably cycle 2 3/4 inch loads anyways, so if I were going to do it, I'd go heavy.

i have been on the web searching like crazy for more info and reviews...

people dont have too much to say about the Mossberg. i dont know if that is because its just average and they dont have issues but arnt thrilled with it or what?

people do have alot to say about the Stoeger though... 1/2 say its the best gun they owned and it swings great and feels awesome and has never failed to cycle... ever...
and the other half say its the biggest POS they have ever seen and it never cycles peoper and screws fall off and the camo falls off easy.

so i dont know if Stoegers night shift is full of rejects or if it was a quality issue that they have figured out and now they are great...

Mossberg 930

From what i've read the Stoeger M2000 is a good gun if you get the newer style with the raised rib and red front bead sight. I have held it and thought it was a nice gun for the money.

I bought a Mossberg 930 in Max-4 and have been well served with this gun, I got it because I wanted to also shoot skeet and clays and the gas system is more reliable than the inertia at this. I would say the Mossberg 930 is the better gun, its gas system is very simular to the Beretta so you cannot go wrong!!!

Mossberg 930

I have one and it's been great.

Only jammed once, and that was on the last day of deer season after quadding around with the chamber open.

Easy to take apart, cleaned it up and it's like new again!

well going with the Mossberg. Thanks all!

savage-man had one here on the site exactly what i wanted. so im pretty excited about it... should be here some time this week, i hope!
