I just bought an M1891/30 from Sir and was quite happy with the experience. It was in great shape, came with all the accessories and bayonet. Unfortunately the ammo is hard to find right now.

Max...

The latest batch all look great. The M44's I've seen so far are all 1946 Russian, and are MINT. The 91/30's have been re-arsenaled to mint, although most have stock repairs. They come with a sling, ammo pouch, oiler and cleaning kit. There are around 80 of each at the moment. Only downside is the most recent shipment are import marked. It sounds like all future milsurp imports to Canada are going to be that way:(

I got one one from SIR too, and am very pleased with it. Came with all the usual accessories (sling, ammo pouch, oiler and cleaning kit). Mine shoots very well too. Can't beat it for $140.

mine was just delivered.

wow, they look unissued. mint condition, stock doesnt have a single ding in it, basically you are getting a 'new' gun for $149. highly recommended, although it takes them a longass time to actually transfer the gun and ship it - over 2 weeks.

Canam should be getting some more in the next year or so. He apparently has found a "source". Stack'em tall and deep when they come, don't know when more will show!

P.S. - love my 91/30. Probably my most used rifle.

I got a 91/30 from SIR a few years ago which was rearsenalled. It basically looked new with perhaps a few minor marks from storage etc. The bore showed some signs of wear but had sharp rifling and gives around 3-4" groups at 100 meters with surplus ammo. Aside from the import marks I was very pleased.

I've purchased several rifles and shotguns from Tradeex and can give nothing but praise for thier goods and services. They dropped their prices on Mosin Nagants a couple of days ago due to the fluxuations in US currency. You might find the shipping from Montreal to be less expensive and may want to look at other options like thier M38s and laminated M44s as well. If their 91/30s are free of import marks, that would certainly make the $20/30 extra that you might be paying well worth it.

Good Luck,

Frank

just bought one from sir (i live about 60 k away from sir) i spend around 1k-3k in sir every month, they are great to deal with , my mosin came with a bayonet, oil bottle and pouch , no ammo available atm but the rifle is in great shape, i am going to take the wood stock off and replace it with a synth stock though so my stock will be available as soon as i find my new stock , oh and the rifle does not have the bolt pre-bent and is an original(all matching #'s) etc.... 1942 stamped prices are also down to 119 cdn atm as well

Friend of mine bought one of the SIR Moisin-Nagants back in September and we have been playing with it ever since. After glass-bedding and with handloads, consistent 5-inch called 3-round groups from a colad barel, at 350 measured yards, in a crosswind.

Can't complain, not for an iron-sighted 65-year-old combat rifle!

I just ordered an M91/30.....I just couldn't pass up the deal and have them sell out on me.

I bought an M44 from SIR two years ago and was very pleased with it. This M91 is gonna be a sniper repo project.....it'll go great with the SVT40 the GF just bought me :)

mosin-nagant

thanks for the help fellas, i got me a 91/30 from sir service was good. the rifle came with import marks on it though, that sucks got some ammo from a friend and it shoots great can't wait to get a m44 :D

I haven't bought any firearms with the import markings on them... I have 2 Mosins coming in from SIR... what do these markings look like?

they're all import marked:(. Hopefully the next batch won't come from Century in the states, and won't be import marked...

What do these markings look like? Do they stand out and look nasty? If I can live with it, it's ok, but if there's a big 'Liberal' etched in the barrel or something, I'm gonna be mighty pissed... haha.

they're all import marked, sorry guys. Hopefully the next batch won't come from Century in the states, and won't be import marked...

Do you know of another batch coming in? I may wait to try my luck then for a non-import marked one. Dang, should have bought the non-marked one's when they had them in the summer.

The import marks aren't really outrageous unless you're looking for them. You can always slop a little black paint in them and nobody will ever know.....
