Is 200$ to much for a 91\30. I have one that i bought years ago for less than 100$. I don't know date of manufacture or arsonal just that it is Russian made. I would like to get one for each of my sons.On a side note where would a guy find new wood for one of these rifles?
Thanks in advance.

Well, I have seen beaters for 150.00, so I really didn't mind paying $199.00 for my jewel of a Mosin. I wish we had the $80.00 guns the US has . Each to their own, if it's worth it too you then it's a fair price.

It depends if the gun is rare in some way (like an m38) or a finn capture or so perfect that it seems like it arrived by time machine from the tula arsenal. For a garden variety refurb yes 200 is too much

fully depends on what your doing really, as a collector they'r not just a Mosin to me .... theres many difrent variations try somewheres around 160 some odd verified ones some common some not and god knows how many others that havent been verifed yet.....for a rather uncommon one as a collector I'd pay higher for something more common ....lets say the 1942 or 1943 dated wartime 91/30s I'd only pay as high as 150$...or lets say a Spanish civilwar issued 91/30 thats all correct youed pay closer to 300 or 400, where thier spanish issued thier worth more to a collector being really scarce however the same gun if issued in Russia would only be worth 150$ maybe.....do your home work it pays to know, knowledge is your best weapon.

I paid $100 shipped in a private sale for an average one that shoots awesome after I tweaked it a bit.
$200 is higher than standard but if you're getting a good strong bored, VG condition Mosin it is not unreasonable in my opinion.

Some Mosins are worth 200 bucks. For a standard refurb 91/30, that's a bit on the high side unless there's something I'm missing.

Check out Westrifle, there's some good deals on there.

As has been said, $200 is too much for a regular Soviet Mosin refurb. But some older mosins with hex receivers, or ex-snipers, are around $200 often.
