Anyone ever heard tell of the Mosin Nagant 91/59? If so, where could a guy get one?

I have had two, nice guns. Watch the ee carefully for somebody selling an m38 with a long rear sight. Most of these are not registered or sold as 91/59.

Isn't a 91/59 just a cut down 91/30?................

Yes, but often wearing M44 furniture and with some of the sight graduations carefully milled off the rear sight leaf.

I think I heard of something similar that the Bulgarians did to some of their M91/30s.

Moisin Nagant 91/59

I read a story about the 91/59. It said that they were made from 91/30 rifles in Soviet eastern block countries and put in storage. Apparently in preparation for an invasion from the west that never came.........

I have one here..There are rumours that the orgin is CZ or Bulgarian,but nothing is confirmed.They seem to lack markings unlike some of the CZ M91/38's....

I would love to see a pic. I had one and sporterized it (this was 10 years ago before I knew anything about collector value) luckily I just cut down the stock. I then gave it to my uncle who still has it. It's an awesome moose gun and every bit as accurate as my Polish M44. Let me know if it's taking up too much space :
