Mosin ammo?

dude. you should be thanking your lucky stars that you can get it from Marstar. and you should offer John to pay twice the shipping cost just to show your appreciation. When this batch is gone. you'll be paying A LOT more for commercial ammo.

if you do the math both are within 15 to 20$$ of each other after all taxes /shipping is figured in ...........

by the way were does frontier get ther stock i wonder ???????///:rolleyes:

Thanking my stars?! Seriously? It ends up costing about double the original price when I have it shipped. Also, I get taxed on the original price and the shipping price. I don't really feel like giving thanks. The only rifles I own that I give thanks for (when considering ammo prices) are my .22lr and my SKS. At least ammo is available and rather cheap for them. Why does it seem like I need to be somewhat rich in order to shoot my rifles (in Nova Scotia anyway)?

I have to agree with everyone else. I only know of Marstar and Frontier Firearms, but the fact that Frontier has free shipping makes them my first choice (for 7.62x54 atleast :p).

If you are in the GTA, it will be cheaper through Marstar with shipping - AROUND $55 per crate.

Has nobody thought this over from a political point of view?

We have a CONSERVATIVE Government which has promised to be more logical in these matters: put the crooks in jail, leave the rest of us alone. And we have a Civil Service which was appointed and otherwise put in place by the Liberals. So the Civil Service, the RCMP and everyone else is doing everything they can to screw us over in order to create dissatisfaction with the Conservative Government. If I were Harper, there would be a massive purge of top-echelon Snivel Servants. Problem is that the Conservatives don't think like that..... but the Liberals do.

Like everything else in Canada (removal of the West's aerospace industry, cancellation of the Arrow, the Ross Rifle story, the abandonment of an entire Army overseas, et cetera, et cetra, ad infinitam) the tale is political at heart.

For the 7.62x54R, handloading is the ONLY way to go. If you have a perfect barrel, you can use the C.E. Harris load for under 15 cents a shot. If you want to shoot jacketed, you can do that for 50 - 60 cents. Why pay almost a buck for Ivan's dodgy primers when you can shoot match-grade for less money?

There is lots of good surplus and almost-surplus out there. We just aren't allowed to have it..... and that is a POLITICAL story, not economic.

After shipping to my door the rounds were 33-34 cents a piece. Much cheaper then 1$.

Any gun shows near you? You might find one box at one of them.
"...Frontier is free shipping..." That'd be why they're more expensive. Shipping is in the price. In any case, shipping fees are set by the carrier, not the retailer.
Marstar's ammo is steel cased and berdan primed. The Russian stuff is likely corrosive too(not really a big deal). Appears to be only by the case, as well.
