Mosin ammo?

If only that were true, I'd buy a case to support the cause.

Anyway, surplus 7.62x54 is only good for SVT's, and only because I save my brass for my Mosin. Shooting surplus, my Mosin makes shotgun patterns at 100m. With my .312 Hornady reloads, it's a 1 moa rifle. The bore, like a lot Nagants, slugs out to .312's of an inch.

Junk surplus is junk surplus; good fodder, but not for what we have to pay for it.

Reloading is the way to go.

the PRVI fmj 180 is good and $20 a box

the PRVI is good and the brass is outstanding, worth the price for the brass alone

The light ball that was just made available to us is far from "junk surplus". Ill post a picture tomorow of a target through my SVT. I did notice however that out of one of my 91/30s I was getting around the 3-4 inch mark at 100, whereby with reloads I can do near or at 1inch all day. Depends on the rifle and bore condition. Tomorow I am shooting said surplus out of my 1944 M38 - either way Ill follow up.

No disagreement there, I'm just an ammo snob. :D

My Mosin hated the Czech silvertip, so I started reloading and haven't looked back. An SVT is on my list when I get back home, so it will be nice to have some good fodder.
