Hi!
Today, I was checking a russian bayonet for an M-91/30 and noticed it had a dovetail on its side with a threaded hole.
Is this an attachment point for a sight protector or what?
Not only that but this bayonet had a double numbering, one with Tula marking and the other one with what looks like a K or a badly struck R.
Any comments?

Both are Tula markings. Your bayonet seems to be a Panshin model sans hood (for blade front sight 91/30). Good score!

The Panshin was only in use for a short time before the globe sight hood was standardized.

Panshin?!! OOPS!
I had feelings that it could have something to do with that but wasn't sure, never having seen the real thing.
Too bad it lost its hood somewhere sometimes! Probably during the refurb to make it a regular M-91/30 bayo...
I'm going to do a bit of researching on that.
Thanks a lot E.O.S. !

Typically Soviet to re-cycle the Panshins after having re-cyled the hoods for scrap steel (it's also where all the lock screws, sight hoods and cleaning rods most likely went from all the RC Kar98Ks)

The USSR wasted no material of value (people were completely expendable).
