Mosin bent bolt stock modification

So i recently bought a bent bolt from the states and just received it. The bolt is going on my shooter 1942 izzy 91/30. My question for you guys is whats the best way to notch the stock for the bolt to close completely?

The way I was thinking was to use a dremel and remove wood slowly till there is clearance for the bolt to close completely. I refinished the stock recently and would like to do a good job.

If anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing it would be great to hear how you did or any tips or tricks for making the job easier. Thanks for the help guys.

This has been turning into a project gun for me. I'm going to work on inletting the stock then I might put a scope mount on it.
 
I like the round file idea. I might try dremeling it close then use a round file and sand paper to finish it so it looks more uniform.
 
If i were doing it i would use a round wood rasp/wood file if i needed to remove a lot of material, depends on the clearance, then either a round file and sandpaper as suggested above, or you could use a wooden dowel or anything to wrap the sandpaper around.

Wow...what a ###y lookin bolt! Too bad they didnt bent it just a bit more......but if its just a plain old 42 izzy, file away. I might try a fine round file, you should be able to make it look factory.

Got all the work done this weekend.

I ended up using a small triangle file instead of a round one. Which is good because I had to remove a ton of wood from the stock.

I think it turned out decent.
 
I did try to follow the first bend. I test fit lots and every time it would hit near the bottom. It is really deep. A lot deeper than I thought or wanted to go. But I wanted to make sure it locked up solid. I actually ground the back of the bolt down for the last bit it needed to lock up completely.

All in all this is my first attempt and anything like this. appreciate the comments though guys! criticism is what I'm looking for in case I ever have to do it again or someone else decides to give this a try.
 
Was that bolt made to fit the original wood stock or was it for something like the archangel pictured above. I got one from Corwin Arms the last time they had a batch in and it totally clears the original wood furniture.
 
I went and spent the 30$ and got mine from west rifle, where I didn't need to do any stock mods. Just mod a spare bolt body I had.

And it worked with 2x 91/30 and a 91/59
