Hey guys,
I have figured out what a possible cause to my mosin nagant problem could be.
The problem which I'm having is that the bolt is hard to close when chambering rounds. I recently purchased a patch of snap caps....both rums on both snap caps are worn after a days worth of cycling.
I have asked the google and have been pointed towards it being an extractor problem.
Anybody have any experience fixing this "extractor" problem? Any tips?

Thanks
Ben

I replaced my extractor. bought the replacement off of ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Imperial-Rus...814975?hash=item3d229e74bf:g:wwwAAOSwawpXrNgF seems to work great but unless it is damaged I doubt that is your problem. I believe what you have is a head space problem or a damaged bolt head . You can buy head space gauge kits on ebay as well http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mosin-Nagant...791991?hash=item3ac0aeeab7:g:HW0AAOxylpNTV1A0 . Have you taken the bolt apart and had a look at all the pieces? when apart inspect the bolt head very carfully. Is the bolt original to the gun? For disassembly there is some good videos on youtube and its very easy.

Thanks for the reply!

Yep I took apart the bolt entirely (minus removing the extractor). I'm just trying to figure out what else could be cause the scratches/jags on the rim of the cartridge. I may have another really good look at the chamber and see if there are any other rough edges.
It's a refurb Mosin Sniper with all matching parts.

Make snap caps from surplus ammo :D steel cases won't be worn as fast he he
See if you extractor is bent too much inward + if extractor's "claw" has any burrs that might need some polishing. You can try to bend extractor a little out even without removing it, just be careful - it can snap. Also if you will bend it out too much you will have problem extracting rounds. I wouldn't start bending until you can score spare extractor. Good luck ;]
