://[/IMG]After restauring my 91-30 the open sight were hard to shoot a good group with it so i order from Frontier a kit that you installed on the rear sight, installation was easy and after that went to the range and zero it, using Sellier&Belliot 180 gr ammo,it could group an easy 1.5 inch... This rifle is a very good shooter... JP.

I put one of these rails on my M44 and threw a scout scope on it. My rail mount was a bit loose in the rear sight channel, so I bedded it there with JB weld (Not permanent; I greased up the sight channel pretty good for the bedding process, and it does come back out, but it's a real nice fit now.) Anyway, it groups about 2" and I can reliably hit a 12" metal plate at 350 yards with it. Perfectly good for a handy scout rifle. I got the mount at Trade Ex for about $14.

Move the red dot sight back a notch on the rail, then trim the rail on both ends so as
not to overhang the original sight base and it would look much better.
Now if you had an Aimpoint compact on that beasty, it would look even better.
Enjoy the 91/30.....The People's rifle!

This is cheap Tasco red dot, originally i had a Spark mounted there but it did find is way on my SR-22, put it on and strangely the zero did not move ( 150 rounds ) so i left it there, i will never hunt with my military rifles so if it break down ,it will be at the range... Cheers. JP.
