Mosin Feeding Problem

I've owned several Mosins, Russian and Finn and have not encountered this problem before.
I've straightened the follower arm as it was slightly bent, but the case heads still don't pop up on 2, 3, and 4th rounds shown in the first two pics.
This binds on the casing as in the first pic. I can pull back the bolt and then it will somewhat pop up and then feed, but is annoying as hell.
The 1st and 5th will sit flat as in the last pic and feed correctly.

I've checked the stock clearance and the interrupter is not touching the stock. There is no gunk to interfere with the interrupter as it's been cleaned thoroughly.
Is it an interrupter or spring problem in the mag? Anyone recommend a tweak for this?

I had the same issue, and I found out it was due to loading the stripper clip incorrectly. The clip has to be loaded in pyramid style _-`-_ with the middle round being the highest. This is the Russian Army way of doing it dating back to the 1892 introduction of the Mosin-Nagant M91 rifle series.

Try this and see what happens.

Do you have another follower to try in the gun?

When the Finns shimmed these they sometimes tweaked the follower arm upward to make up the difference of the shims. An out half my Finns have been so adjusted.

If you straightened it out you may have created this problem.

I only straightened left to right, not up and down. Since I don't have another follower I cannot compare.
I see your point with the shims though. I'm wondering if the follower didn't get adjusted in the refurb.

Do you have any pics of your Finn adjusted followers? I can take a pic of mine tomorrow for comparison.

This may not be applicable but;

At the range I have found that most people do not pull the bolt back hard enough to work the magazine interrupter so it can to do it's job and allow the magazine to feed properly.

The interrupter was designed to get around the problem of rimmed cartridge jamming in the magazine.

The Lee-Enfield charger is loader so the the when the cartridges are loaded in the magazine from the charger, the rim of the top cartridge is forward of the lower cartridge to prevent jamming.

The Mosin Nagant interrupter eliminates the problem of rim placement of the cartridges in the Mosin Nagant magazine.

This is either an interruptor issue or a follower issue. Here are the possibilities:

1) The interruptor is not retracting easily, either because it's binding on the stock, or is burred, or the spring is bent causing it to exert too much pressure in the interruptor plate. These can be one piece or two pieces. not sure which type you have.
2) If the stock is shimmed too much, it's possible the magazine is seated too low in relation to the receiver, which has the effect of the follower not pushing the rounds high enough or with enough force. We would need to see pics of where the front and back lips of the magazine assembly are in relation to the bolt raceway inside the receiver.
3) the Follower arm is not sitting high enough to do its job (doubtful unless the mag is also too low as in number 2).
4) The main follower arm spring (the one screwed to the floor plate) is binding on the follower arm, through a burr or whatever. We would need to see pics. I had one like that. I stoned off the burr ant it worked well again afterward.
