Hey folks,

Picked up another 91/30 yesterday, got it all cleaned up and took it out this AM for some initial testing. It needs the usual sight adjustments since it's being fired without the bayo. Trouble is I'm having a real hard time drifting the front sight. Normally I'd just spray on some penetrating lube and let it sit for 20 mins and try again. Well, I've been trying and trying and trying. So, my question is, anyone got any suggestions as to a better lube? I've had no trouble drifting the sight on my 3 others (yeah, I've got a sickness, I know) this one is just being a real stubborn commie SOB. :stirthepot2:

thanks in advance!

I was going to post this question tonight. Had my M44 out for the first time and I need to do the same. (High and to the right) Not much on the forum search function....mine is stuck good.

Make sure to clamp the barrel area in a good padded vise. A good brass punch 1/4" in diameter that's tapered will help.
Hit it hard with hammer. They will come loose as they were meant to adjust. Probably a little rust seizing things up inside.

As said above, give it a blast of penetrating oil and give it a good smack with a brass punch to get it to move a few times before you go to the range. Once it moves, then take it to the range and tap it over accordingly.
