Finally I got to the range with my Mosin.
I was testing different loads with .311" and .308" size bullets.
I can say, the most accurate was .308", which was SMK 155gr Palma, loaded with IMR 4064, OAL 3".

I was trying to improve my iron sight filing the rear part to get bullets strike lower on 100yr target. It didn't work, I haven't filed enough :(, and I was afraid to over do it.
After mounting a bayonet, bullets start dropping bit on a target to the point I could go for a group shooting.

I was shooting 5 rounds groups with iron sites at 100yr with a support of sandbag, which I found to work best with Mosin. My Sinclair benchrest it is too fancy for Russian rifle.

I was impress with overall gun fit, I am a bigger guy and the gun was perfectly fit for my size.
The trigger is another story, breaks at 6lbs, and is horrible, it got few stages. I like short pull triggers, with max pull of 2lbs, but this was brutal, one stage after another stage, and I could almost here spring saying, release me, please release me :)

Here is the pic of my group:

And here she is with here cousin from Switzerland ;)

First of all, that's an M1891/30.

The trigger can be improved by stoning the bearing surfaces.

To lower the bullet strikes, don't file the rear sight - replace the front sight.

You drift out the globe and the sight post punches right out. Just make up a replacement (easy to so using a finishing nail and some cold blue).

Thanks Claven for correcting me and yes I know that link Tyler.

Next week I am going to put PSO-1 scope on my rifle,
any advice to what I have to look or rather tell the gunsmith to
watch for?
