Mosin - Nagant 91/30 fail to fire

I have a 91/30 that will not fire . I have to #### it three times for it to fire. I've replaced every thing on thre bolt, except for the part that the handle is mounted to. The spring on my type 53 feels much stronger.Any ideas.

You need more firing pin protrusion.

Check a YouTube video on how to use the go/no go gauge on the side of that funky little screwdriver tool that probably came with it. Desporterizer has likely nailed your problem.

Thats my first guess as well, not much more it can be.

Agreed, check the firing pin with this tool and your problem should be resolved. They're handy little buggers

Yes protrusion should be between the 75 and the 95 on the gauge. If it is below the 75 you need more and if it is over the 95 you need less.
