hey fellas,
Bought a nice looking mosin from SFRC a week or so ago. I have yet to shoot it but during my initial cleaning and checking things over I noticed the front sight assembly seems to have been moved or re welded?
It shows signs of grinding marks and bluing missing on equal sides on the barrel mounted assembly.
Further inspection resulted in what I seem to believe in a bent front sight pin, From both regular sighting in AND looking down through the front end assembly hole ( birds eye view ) I can clearly see its bent to one direction, Quite a bit.
Is this a common issue with reburbs? Is this some thing that was done accidentally during shipping or by the factory or whats the deal?
Can any one confirm what I see is actually grinding marks on the sides to either replace or move the whole assembly around?
What is the cure for a front sight post replacement or bending it back?
Thanks
