I am looking at getting ammo (7.62mmx54R) for my soon to have SVT-40 and it comes in 5 rnd stripper clips. I read somewhere that the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle and svt-40 use the same style stripper clip and wanted to comfirm this. Anybody have any ideas? Do all guns that use the Russian
7.62mmx54R use the same stripper clip??

The SVT uses the same chargers as all the MN's. If you're ordering the Districorp Hungarian ammo on charges, I found those particular chargers wouldn't fit in any of my Soviet rifles. If they did, they were too tight to strip the cartridges out.

The ammo actually feeds into SVT-40s nicer than it does into Mosins because with Mosins you have to push the ammo down past the extractor whereas with the SVT-40 you're just pushing it straight into the magazine.

I bought some of the Districorp ammo, but i don't have a SVT-40 to try it out it...Works decent enough in the MN's though...but there is the odd one that is really hard to strip. Could be that they're just bent a little differently ??
Other than that...and the laquered cases sticking once in a while, I'm happy with it.
