Why 6 inches? is this to remove damage or to fit into your locker? not that it matters, so why not, take some before and after photos of the rifle and some before and after photos of your groups.
i find it a bit long to walk around in the bush with, i have a scout scope mounted on it and i have already cut the stock so i thought i may as well cut off some of the barrel to make it lighter and maneuverable, i may even cut off more but it all depends on what kind of feedback i get from guys that have tried it, those carbines look really cool but guys are asking alot for them so i thought i would try and make my own. my annoyance comes from the fact that you get some guy on here that will ask a question and about 3-4 responses later you have guys trying to talk him out of it or the conversation morphs in to something else. ie:im hunting deer with a .223 blah blah blah, and then some yoko comes on here and says try a .308 and then another cowboy shows up and says "no no no get a 30-06" and so forth and then we get into ballistics of 308 and 30-06 and everyone forgets the original question.
