So I just bought a Mosin Nagant 1942 surplus rifle and a bunch of surplus ammo. Took apart the entire rifle today and cleaned all the cosmoline off via some stuff I read on the internet. The action feels good, gun shoots pretty decent too.
I've had a bit of an issue with the bolt coming out while cycling the action, at first I assumed it was because I oiled the gun up quite a bit after stripping the cosmoline off it, and maybe the oil was getting a little sticky in the -15 weather here? Left it in the house for an hour or so and it still does it every 20 or so times I cycle the action. The trigger seems to be a little loose, maybe I installed something incorrectly or the spring that tensions the trigger is worn out?
