Hi all,

I recently scored a Hungarian M44 sans bolt. So I found a bolt, but it will not go in because there are some small rails protruding from either side of the guide rod at the back, with no corresponding grooves in the receiver. I have looked at lots of pictures og guide rods online, and as yet have not seen one that had these rails. Nor can I find any mention of them. I theorize that maybe they were on the M91 bolt, but were one of the changes they made for the 91/30. But I don't know. Also, the cocking piece has a different shape than most.

I am new to the whole Mosin world (but have got the bug ... picking up my first 91/30 next week) and I figured that maybe someone on here could tell me what I have got here. Of course, I could file them puppies off in about 30 seconds .... but I got wondering if maybe I had better just hold off a bit before I do. Pictures below. Any help appreciated.
