Trade up to a nice No5 with that skinny little 50 year-old-hard-as-fossilized-dinosaur-s**t rubber torture, cracked, 2-piece, loose, arsehole stock and put a hundred rounds of nice Greek MkVIIIZ downrange....
Then check your pantyhose to see if you put any runs in 'em.
Lee-Enfields truly ARE fun to shoot... M-44's and No5's... well..... not so much.
Compared to the regular 1891/30 an M44 kicks a little more,
It's weird, isn't it? You'd think short barrelled guns would kick less, as less of the powder is burned inside the barrel. But, the opposite is true.
One day I had to fire off a box of 3 inch magnums through a 14" shotgun...nobody else wanted to fire it after a few rounds, they kick like a #####!
I agree about No 4 Enfields, a pussycat to shoot with the 25" barrel.
