I know very little about Mosin-Nagant rifles but I have been bitten by some sort of Russian Bug lately. I bought a couple Russian swords a couple years ago and now I think it would be cool to have a rifle to go with them. Any of you Fanatics ;) know what rifle would match these swords ???

A Mosin-Nagant 'Dragoon Rifle' would be an excellent fit. Just hunt around for a Mosin built pre-1930, they are pretty much just reworked Dragoon rifles. They were made for mounted infantry.

A Cossack Mosin would be even better, but good luck finding one.

Where would I find more info about these rifles ? I'm guessing it would just be older and shorter. Anyone tell what the overall lenght of these rifles would be ? I found a bit on Wiki, .......Dragoon Rifle (Russian: драгунская): Intended for use by Dragoons (mounted infantry). 64 mm (2.5 in) shorter and 0.4 kg (0.9 lb) lighter than the M1891. The Dragoon rifle's dimensions are identical to the later M1891/30 rifle, and most Dragoon rifles were eventually reworked into M1891/30s. Most such rifles, known to collectors as "ex-Dragoons", can be identified by their pre-1930 date stampings, but small numbers of Dragoon rifles were produced from 1930 to 1932 and after reworking became impossible to distinguish from purpose-built M1891/30s.[11]
Cossack Rifle (казачья): Introduced for Cossack horsemen, it is almost identical to the Dragoon rifle but is sighted for use without a bayonet. These rifles were also issued without a bayonet.

PS. The woods not for sale. Sorry

Yes, we can see this . You have a Lee Enfeild stock in your Russian collection. This does not belong.

The spikes belong to early Mosin rifles, however, the blades were issued previous to Mosin rifles.. Without better photos, its hards to say.

Your right Laugh2 I was refinishing a stock about the same time and never even thought about it f:P:
