if you are just looking for a shooter, there is not much to choose from between the 38 and the 44, but if you are looking to carry it around in the bush or in your truck, the 38 is probably the way to go as the bayonet adds weight and bulk to the 44.

It is just polished, not chromed...
In spite of all this with the right loads it is minute of angle. I love it.
If you've read from the other post, I'm getting an M44 this summer and afterwards a 91/30. I can't wait to try them both out!
