PS: If you don't believe me, put some cold blue on a q-tip and touch it to the muzzle "chrome". It will turn black. Real chrome doesn't blue

You're right, it's not chromed. Learned a lot from you guys! But that still is a good gun, love it.

My 1954 Polish M-44 has a chrome bore.

It is just polished, not chromed...

Also...

if you are just looking for a shooter, there is not much to choose from between the 38 and the 44, but if you are looking to carry it around in the bush or in your truck, the 38 is probably the way to go as the bayonet adds weight and bulk to the 44.

But one needs the Bayonet for Bear defence.

My M44 kicks like a cart horse, spits fire and makes my ears bleed. In spite of all this with the right loads it is minute of angle. I love it.

Keep this recipe safe until you get your M44. 125grn bullets ( I pull mine from Czech 7.62X 39) 56 grns of BL-C (2). These will make your day, I guarantee it.


PS don't bother with the 91/30, that's a womans rifle.
