I agree, these rifles are everywhere, but the ammo to feed them is becoming scarce and, though still available, hard to find.
I have been in a warehouse where there is millions of quality surplus 7.62x54R. Problem in Canada nowadays is NRC to apply and get ammo tested and allowed is about 2 years. Cost factor 125 just for application. Shipping from overseas (russia) is 1000 Usd. You know that it is going to go for testing ( be real ) so another 1350 testing cost. Calls to NRC long distance charges ( you have to call direct line no 1800 bs) Plus how much is your time worth $$$$ (opportunity cost)
So total 125+1000+1350= 2500 Cad + 2 years time.
It is going to be done but it will take time. Ohh and one more thing NRC won't tell you if someone already applied or in process of applying. They want 125 fee to be paid. Also NRC are not controlled by anyone, like CFC or CRA . You can not complaint about them except your local parliament representative and we all know how that is going to go.
So there you go I told you what other won't. It will be done, but it will take time ( unless liberals will come to power, then it will take even longer
I would appreciate if dealers / store owners / distributors PM me what they have done on this issue or what are they doing, or we can all be quite and wait who is approved first. I know that there is issues
