Mosin torture test

I like Eric and Barry. They're one of the reasons I chose to start buying milsurps. Eric posted a video on the Mauser 98 ATI stock. I installed mine on a yugo M48 I picked up from Marstar. I will be sure to stop in and see them as I'm heading down I75 in June.
The mosin video was pretty neat. Goes to show you how well the Russians and Belgium designed this rifle. The Finns achieved great results with changing the sight, barrel and trigger.

waste of a gun. It may have been a parts gun but seemed like a good shooter

Come on guys. It's not the holy grail. It is a damned fine way to show how good the rifle is. Sacrificing the one to save the many. Many products are torture tested to failure to see how they will hold up. This vidio just proves that these rifles will bear up to a lot of abuse.

Good thing there are another 18 million out there!

No there isn't, not even close. The mighty mosin has been found in just about every conflict since 1891 & the attrition rate is quite high. Why is it every time a firearm is brought to the market at a reasonable price it is treated as disposable?

Waste ?? He will get a million views within a year on that vid and make thousands of dollars from his Adsense .. its already going viral on firearms forums everywhere .. No one has done a Mosin torture test on YT before , it was bound to happen and someone cashes in .. YT is a business now..

+1, though I do love Barry and Eric. Learned a lot from both of them. Including how tough this rifle is.

Highlight of the video for me:

"We done took it down here to the crick n' give it a bath." Man, I love them mountain accents.

And the concept of a "range trash pill" is new to me.

These guys are goons, the 2nd vid made a little piece of me die.

I couldn't agree more with desporterizer. Matching K98s and Enfields were plentiful in the 1970s and now look at the prices they're going for.... I'm mainly into USGI firearms so my collection of Soviet items is rather small but I can at least appreciate the stuff. I'm kind of getting tired of people treating Russian firearms like they're useless crap. It's just not the case. I bet once Mosins stop being imported you'll see them hit the $500 mark in the next 10 years. The same goes for SKS's....take a quick look on an American site and see what our southern neighbours are currently paying for Soviet SKS's.

if you subed to them long enough you would have seen the range trash pill is was dose in just about any of the firearms they test. I talked to Eric about this the other night and he said and I quote this was a thrown together rifle (same with the mosin builds) they get parts rifles in from time to time
