Are not all the new imports 91/30's that is all I have seen, not full Model 1891's?
Like was said, P.S Militaria or the EE are your best sources. I guess that no more M1891 remain from military warehouse,maybe Westrifle can have more info about availability.

Yours started out as a dragoon, not a m91
There is rifles that were made before 1930, but majority was modernized by Mister Stalin in 1930. Best you can do is find one that was made in 192X, but I don't know the cost of it as it is rare.

The original 1891 Mosin came in a few variations, most notably the infantry rifle, cossack and the dragoon rifle. The dragoon rifles were shorter then their infantry counterpart, and were later upgraded to the 91/30 specs. These rifles are commonly known as "ex dragoons" and if updated to regular 91/30 specs (ie rear sight in meters) then they are not rare. They will be mixed in with regular refurb rifles.
I have also read that some cossack rifles were upgraded aswell to 91/30 specs however I have never personally seen this.

I already have a couple of 91/30's but as I don't have an '91, I'd like to get one. The problem is that some (most/all) of what I've seen advertised as a model '91 appear (to my lmiited knowledge) to me to be 91/30s. For instance they all seam to have the slot in the stock for the sling. What other differences should I expect?
Here is a quick comparison (notes from 7.62x54r.net)
Model 1891 Infantry rifle:
Overall length - 51 1/2"
Barrel length - 31 1/2"
sight radius - 27"
Model 1891 Dragoon rifle:
Overall length - 48 1/2"
Barrel length -28 3/4"
Sight Radius - 24 1/2"
Both the dragoon and infantry rifles featured both the early "flat' sight leaf, aswell as the later (post 1907?) Konovalov rear sight as seen here, which was graduated in arshins.
It soon became aparent to the Soviets that the dragoon length rifle was much more practical then the infantry model, so in the late 20's/early 30's a new rifle was trialed and adopted. The new rifle was to be of dragoon length with the "updated" sights in meters (as is commonly seen here) replacing the original Konovalov sight in use from 1907. The rifle would also have a hooded front sight. There are other minor differences however essentially the 91/30 rifle is a dragoon rifle with the later meter-celibrated sights. The sights are the major difference between the dragoon rifle and the 91/30.
There are also rifle which will feature a transition of sorts. Such as rifles with the "new" rear sight and a non-hooded front sight for use with the Panshin bayonet etc... Basically due to the refurb process ANY Mosin can display a wide array of features and parts.
At some point (I seem to recall reading the 1970's) all (and I use that term loosely!) 1891 Dragoon rifles in Soviet service were "upgraded" to 91/30 specs. Essentially the older sights were ripped off and new ones installed. Many of these rifles will display a mix of stock types aswell due to the refurb process. These rifles are 91/30s now and will often be referred to as "ex dragoons" by collectors nowadays.

Just as a side note I have seen many 1891 Infantry rifles wearing 91/30 stocks and many rifles displaying a wide variety of features in old WWII photos. Its important to remember that the Soviets used anything and everything during those dark days of Barbarossa. Just because it isnt historically "correct" does not mean it is "wrong" if that makes any sense.

Both American companies of New England Westinghouse and Remington were under contract in WWI to produce 1891s for Russia. The ones I have seen are of good quality and in my opinion $350 is not out of line.

What you referring to is earlier model Tsar era rifle. Those rifle quite rare. Those came before 91/30's model. Those were modified into 91/30's model, only receiver usually was used.
They had different barrel it was in the shape of octagon.
There is some left back home but the problem is they are consider national treasure. They will not be allowed to be sold. So my conclusion is if you have one like it HOLD ON TO IT!

One thing i like about M91 Mosin are its sights.
I find Konovalov sight the best sight of its type I have ever used and I can't explain why.
I doesn't stain my eye nearly as much as Mauser of French sights after 50-70 rounds.
