I've thought of the same... I bought one from moreguns that was beat to hell.(I know, I know) I just refinished it. But I was thinking of getting it 'carbined' myself.... Dont know if I can cross that line though.... but I do have my other westrifle one that will stay stock as long as I own it:D
 
The neat thing about being older is that I will never live long enough to regret altering a $100 rifle. I already have a couple of nice ones that will stay original. That is if refurb realy counts as original. The rest are to play with.
They are mine to have fun with.
 
Baking my stock def did the job, I took her out to the range and shot only about 20 rds thru here and she heated up nice and only a small bit of cosmo came out of the hand guard so im pleased. I rocked a nice group at 25 yrds which is good for me since this was the 1st real rifle I shot.

Why not go to the EE and get an M-44 or an M-38?

The "Equipment Exchange "on this website. The M-38's and 44's come up quite often. Pretty hard to improve on them. I sometimes think that I would like to take the folding bayonet off my M-44, but that's what an M-38 is and I have a good reason to buy another rifle.

:cool:that made me think.... I gotta get a pic of me shooting mine with the fireball coming out the end..... I paused the video and found the fireball and thought ...... cool....
