Yep I have a friend who had one, slide cracked. They are junk. Sadly there is no other option for a Sig style .22LR trainer. Many better options for a “full-size” .22LR pistol... but if the Sig pattern is important for your application then your limited to the low quality present in the Mosquito offering.
I have been in contact with the Canadian Sig warantee center, they said to mail them the pistol and they will repair it with a new slide but they can't promise a time line as they have been waiting for parts from Germany.
That is a good deal, it was never offered to me when it happened. perhaps Sig is trying to do the right thing and repair their rep.Update....I contacted MD Charlton and they had me send the Gun to them for warrantee, a couple of weeks later they said they were having trouble getting slides and asked if I would be happy if they sent me a brand new sig 1911-22 instead. I said sure and received it the other day. Now there is customer service. Mosquito was approx 11 years old.
Goodluck with your potential wait. We have a member shooting his Mosquito when halfway a mag load, the slide broke into 2-pcs with the front dropping in front of him. Though already past warranty, he contacted the Warranty Centre and he got the same answer. I have not seen the same pistol since then. From previous posts, someone mentioned a Centrefire Kit. I am not just sure if this is a safe way to go since you are starting from a .22 LR. The mosquito frame might not be robust enough to take a centrefire top. Like the GSG 1911, when it first came out, some shooters were thinking of using a 9mm kit. Not sure if this was tried, hopefully not. Most .22 pistols are designed to be cost effective. To be in this market, you have to cut on cost of material without compromising the safety. I dont think SIG used the same 226 frame but I might be wrong though.
Safe Shooting!
I think mines been gone for a year or so now, never heard anything back.
Edit, yup they have had my gun since April 2017
