I have a late '50's - early '60's Mossberg152K semi-auto. It has the fold-down fore-piece and the 'acorn" breech plug. It has one magazine, and is marked ".22LR only" on the barrel.

I am having failure to feed issues I can't figure out. Starting with a lightly lubed and clean action, the gun will cycle 10 to 20 rounds flawlessly, then stop feeding. The bolt is very hard to move rearward, and feels like something is binding in the breech. If I remove the breech plug. the bolt slides back smoothly and when re-inserted once again functions fine for a few rounds. Then same problem again.

I was having good luck with Super X ammo - the gun does NOT like CCI or Federal - but now the problem is occurring with Winchester too. Lat trip out put 200+ rounds down the pipe; yesterday 12 and that was it.

I am at a loss - any ideas greatly appreciated.

~ Clean under the extractors.
~ Try standard velocity ammo.
~ Bent Firing Pin?
~ Kinked or damaged Mainspring or Retracting Spring.
~ Angle Bar bent, or loose.

Angle bar is what your magazine slides on. If the angle is wrong it can make feeding an issue. You can let the action slide forward slowly to see if it is feeding into the chamber straight or it could be high or low.If it's feeding high you bend it towards the trigger if low bend towards the muzzle. You don't need to move it very much. 1/32" is a lot. Also do it in a vise so you don't strip the attaching screw out.
Also check to make sure the wrong screws haven't been used and may be dragging on the action.Check where the ejectors go into the barrel to. I've seen more guns packed with crap in these spots than anywhere else.
