When I was a boy I was given a Mossberg 283A for passing the hunters training course. It came to me used with a single choke. Used isn't a surprise to me as I got it new to me in 1992, and these were only produced from 1960-'68. Anyway I was curious if any of you gents here could steer me in the direction needed to aquire additional chokes for it. These are the external screw on type and I would love to aquire the whole set of chokes for this model, so it's complete when it comes time to hand it down to my son.

Being that old is must have something like a Cutts set up on it since tubes didnot come out until the mid 80's. Can you post a pic of what is on it now and what gauge it is so we can see if we can help out.

Sorry guy no pics available at present I'll try to get some up soon. It is chambered in .410 ant the choke is threaded on externally similar to a rifles muzzle brake.

Are you sure it is not an adjustable choke. Mosberg called them C-lect chokes. The more you tightened the outside sleeve the tighter the choke. It could also be a Llyman choke system. Google might help by looking up Lyman choke system you might find pictures to compare to what you have.
