Anyone know if a 500 stock will fit?What are the rules and regulations regarding pistol grips and overall length etc?

I believe the 400 Mossberg is just a 500 that was made in Canada. Barrel length 18 1/2" and a pistol grip makes overall length over 26" so is okay. There are other combinations that appear to be presently legal , but the above is. The pistol grip only is not a good choice unless you are looking for the shortest package for bear protection or something like that. It is difficult to shoot accurately although with practice it can be done. Don't throw your regular butt stock away, it is probably the best, just 11" or so longer. The pistol grip gets boring after a while, limited use. I have one but I have others that are used more, but it does slip down into the pack nicely.
