I won't bother posting pic's if I'm going to get slagged on it.
I suppose it's as milsurp as a Lee Enfield No 7; both WW2 Canadian Forces training rifles, no?
It's Bubba'd anyhow.
Mine is the bubba'd one with the magazine

It was a freebie; no trigger guard and smashed wrist on the stock. My son is pretty good with wood, he repaired it.

His is the full dress M 46 with a tube magazine and the dust cover on the bolt.

They both have the Swiss Army front sight; but the sights are different models.

Beautiful stocks on these guns and really nice actions; reminds one of an Anschutz 22

Thanks for looking

It is listed as a wartime training rifle, therefore it IS one.

That goes double if it has military markings.

C'mon! Show us!

Or do we just have to sit here and drool all by ourselves?

Well!

Now I know what those extra little holes in the bolt-body are for. This must be about the very last rifle issued to the military with a dust-cover.

That front-sight assembly is just great!

One of this type (tube magazine, civvy) was the first rifle I had which you could actually hit something with..... and it was great. They are very much underappreciated and underrated. Likely you will get your best groups with Standard velocity ammo; the new stuff is just too fast for the rather-gentle rifling in the best of the old ones..... and this one is definitely one of the best.

Lovely rifles, both of them!

Thanks for posting.

Considering mine was free and the boys was 300 $ the average is working out well I think, LOL.
And this is a tonque-in-cheek poke at the fella's looking for free appraisals.
Although in all honesty I've posted such a question at one time, but only to see if I got hosed on the Buy.
As far as the sell...I don't sell many Milsurps. I don't buy them as an investment, I buy / acquire them to shoot; often to shoot deer / coyotes.
That and to marvel at the actions. Ross and Springfield armory 30-40 Krag being my favorites ( yes over LE & Mausers). In a pistol I REALLY enjoy the Chilean Steyr-Hahn.
I would like to take it through a milsurp course at the local range, but losing all that precious brass makes my teeth hurt.
Stay safe

They are pretty interesting rifles. A gent asked me to clean one a while back for him - had a bullet lodged halfway down the bbl! The dust cover was pretty surprising, the only other dust cover rifle I have held were my Arsiaka's!

I've always liked the grip of the old Mossbergs, feels like a firm handshake. Tok; you know what I mean? The safety's are pathetic IMHO though, then again who uses the safety anyhow.
I agree, the older rifles fill your hand nicely.
And I concur on the safety as well. Light 'er up or shuck 'er out!
