Mossberg 500, 535 or Benelli Nova?

Between the two of these, any thoughts as to what is the winner?

Now that would be for you to decide - from a perspective of gun fit/personal preference......once you have had an opportunity to handle/compare both in parallel. The thing I like about Epps is that they almost always have a very broad inventory that enable one to inspect/compare similar products in "real time."

You may note that the Benelli Nova design has been based on a single (integral) piece of stock/receiver build. Take-down and/or re-assembly is a very simple chore with that model. It has a fatter "Star Wars" concept forend :D with a shell stop button. I felt that the Nova offered superior ergonomics overall.

The Browning design is slimmer in that respect. Perhaps, it's just me but I felt that I needed to stretch my left arm a bit further to grab that forend. The tang safety although not as fully ergonomical when compared to that on a double gun is still a better feature than the built in safety on a trigger guard, IMO. However, it does work particularly well though on the BPS with a straight stock. The BPS also offers the simplicity and convenience of removing shells from the mag tube without having to cycle the action. Field stripping the firearm may not offer peace of mind. I did one indoors, on a work bench, and it was fine.

Or skip the camo for a supernova. With its adjustable stock, you'll have a much wider range of fit for you.

I need the camo..I have enough black guns to last a lifetime! :p

From a warranty service point of view is Browning better or worse than Benelli for parts and service in Canada? I have never used Benelli (Is it Stoeger/Beretta?) service.

Never had to deal with Benelli customer service. Likely the same as Stoeger/Beretta since Beretta owns them.

Individual experiences will vary. The turnaround time may be much longer in the case of Stoeger (Benelli).

Half the the screwhead (on the front sight ramp) of my T3 Hunter was missing (factory defect).....it was a couple minutes replacement job at the most, however, I didn't wish to tackle that on my own without proper tools. Anyway, I received the rifle back about 10 days later.

The fit and finish quality are great for both brands....would be hard to damage any unless one took a hammer to that or did some such abuse! :)

The 535 is a 3.5" capable 500 with a shorter mag tube longer receiver and less barrel options. If your not planning on using 3.5" shells go for the 500 mossy. Benellis to me are ####. Mossbergs are like tanks and mine take a beating and never have had any issues
