Mossberg 500 Defender in 20 Ga.

Here is our new Defender back from the Smith, Barrel shortened to 18" from the bolt and added a 12g Knoxx NRS Stock.

So if anyone was ever wondering if the Knoxx fits the 20 Ga 500, well yes it does and nicely.

My only dislike is that the Knoxx has such a high comb height and has less than Ideal drop at comb but all shots will be inside 15 yards so who cares right.

Just need a new forend in black synthetic.

P.S. Now that the barrel is short at 457 mm do I need to get the REG card renewed as it says 470 mm or Greater?

Everyone told me 18" was legal so I did it. Just need to make sure its legit with the CFO.

Well I called to renew the barrel length with the CFO today. Well the older lady I was on the phone thinks I am now in possession of a prohibited barrel because it is cut to 18" (457mm) and not 18.5" (470mm). She asked if I did it myself, I said no a gunsmith did it. I told her no... a manual repeater can be cut to 18" and still be non-res. 18.5" is for semi-auto, she still says we'll see and she put a request through the system to see if it is legit or I will get an order to destroy barrel.

I have hope in the fact everyone says 18" is legal.

i'm paying close attention to what happens because i have a similar issue with a 18" barrel i just bought off the EE.
