mossberg 500 or 590a barrels??

Just out of curiosity are the barrels on the mossberg 500 or 590 tac style chotguns interchangable or easily changes with longer bnarrels. Love thes guns looking at buying one but want to know if the barrel can be swapped easily from time to time for multi use.
 
No since the 590 uses a magazine cap as opposed to a barrel nut on the 500 barrels. You have to replace the magazine tube as well.
 
400g 500 600 and maverick barrels interchange. 535ats has a shortened mag so it doesn't and as stated the 590s also don't interchange. All other parts do tho like grips heatsheilds etc

While that's true, it also depends on what length of magazine, as an 8-shot model's barrel won't fit on a 6-shot model and vice versa. Otherwise guys like me, screwed over because we live in Canada, would have that 28" Maverick barrel built for 8-shot models for my M500 Persuader!
 
500 and 590 barrels do not interchange, but some 590 barrels will fit on 835's. Kinda wish Mossberg would stick with one thing or another. They use about 5 different diameter barrel tubes also :(
