Mossberg 500 Persuader~who has/uses one?

Hey guys...after a great experience shooting an 8-shot/20" Parkerized "Persuader" a little over a year ago...I've been on the prowl for one ever since. (Model 50578, discontinued I think) Closest I can see is Mossberg's 590 "Tactical" with and 18.5" barrel, but it's this parkerized 500 model I'm after.

It's unfortunate that they don't offer it anymore, as Mossberg's site shows a dizzying # of models, including several bizarre/tactical versions I have zero desire to own. All the 500s now look like 88s with that cheaper-looking, glossy finish. I've checked every supplier I can think of/find, including SFRC..no dice. Anybody know where a guy might find one? There has to be one sitting on a shelf in a gun shop somewhere!

To anyone who has the 590 Tactical and is familiar with the 500s...is the 590 Tactical (lower price than the A1s) more 500 or more 590?

I own an 870 Police (which I dig) but it wears a 28" bird barrel most of the time. Looking for a high-capacity pump/dedicated fun-gun that is a little lighter than the 870.

I appreciate any/all input. I've never owned a Mossberg anything...but have had 2 buddies who had 590 A1s for a short time and say they felt for the money...not worth it. One had a front sight rattle loose/fall off after about 200 rounds.
 
I own a 500 with the extended tube and 20" barrel. I don't think it was called the Persuader. It came with the buttstock and a separate pistol grip. It also has a heat shield. It has a blued finish and not Parkerized.
The gun is 30 years old so I'm guessing the particular model is discontinued.
However, it has never failed. Nothing has fallen off and it shoots well. Just used it recently in a 3G match and it worked flawlessly. It's also my camp shotgun. YMMV.
 
I got my Mossberg 500 Persuader on sale at WSS for 199$ 6 years back . Its parked and has worked flawlessly. All I did is add the 590 metal trigger guard , metal safety, S&J follower, NC High power spring, BFG sling and hogue short stock.

Ive never seen another once since.

^that's the gun! I was beginning to think I was going mad...can't find these anywhere! lol Exactly what I'm after.
 
What about getting a persuader in the blued finish and sending it off to blackbox custom or cerakote?

I know, not ideal, but honestly I think the finish would be of higher quality than the mossberg park.

I appreciate the input, and I believe you're right. But...I had considered that. I'm looking for an original/un-messed-up one. lol I've had barrels parkerized, even had my Citori barrels rust blued by a guy who is supposed to be the best~results were not awesome in either case, or inexpensive. When I get a factory-finished gun (for better or for worse) then it "is what it is". When I pay good money and get so-so results that don't thrill me anymore than a factory finish~that bugs me BIG time.
