Mossberg 500 Pursuader or 590 A1?? or?

I didn't know about Remington not putting the 870 in.

The guy who says that they don't carry Mossberg because they are low end is full of ####. Mossberg has been making excellent firearms for a long time, and selling them at a fair price. No, their fake "ar-15" isn't great, but its also cheap as hell. The 500/590 is proven, proven, proven. They had Savages and other lower priced firearms I am sure.

I went to LeBaron today and the guy said they don't carry Mossberg because they are low end stuff. I asked him I thought Remington and Mossberg are the same level. And then he said well Remington is up a notch than Mossberg. I was wondering if he even knows what he is talking about.

Did you see a SKS, Mosin, Kel Tec, Hi Point Or Norinco anywhere on their shelves? If you did, then the guys a hypocrite! If you didn't, then he is a snob!
I've had my 500 for 25 years. Still works just fine!

I don't want bias opinion but I am contemplating to purchase either 590A1 Blackwater or 870 Tactical Police. Which one is better? They are about the same price.

Don't know which it "better" but after owning both 500/590's and 870's I prefer the ergo's of the Mossbergs.
I felt the BlackWater logo on the receiver cheapened a nice SG and I didn't like the fore-grip with the accessory rails(literally a pain in the thumb during recoil). The XS GRS sights on the BW are quick and look slick with the optics rail but I feel the standard GRS are more robust(with the "wings") against knocks….JMHO

Probabley more of a case of the sales guy not being a Mossberg dealer , so naturally , he was not going to say anything good about them.....he was trying to push the product that his store sells....

I've been hearing and reading that the newer Remington 870s will rust with a harsh glance, unless you buy an old school 870 'wingmaster' or 'police magnum' from back in the day. This is a very common complaint to consider.

Every review of Mossberg shotguns, online and in person, has been positively glowing. Sounds like buddy at LeBaron is full of crap

Why they didn't submit it?
I actually just read an article on this the other night.

Apparently Remington felt they had "everything to lose and little to gain" by submitting the 870 for the test.
They already had a strong presence in law enforcement agencies all over north America as well a trusted place in the personal home defense category.
A negative showing in the military testing would tarnish that reputation in their mind.
A positive showing would garner a military contract they didnt really want, and that they didn't feel was worth the risk of losing the mainstay markets they already dominated.
