Mossberg 500 quirks?

the mag tube has such a tight thread on mine I figured it was not intended to be removed. I'll try to take it off this evening without damaging it, have a look inside.
 
Yea, but it's not a simple field strip job. A screw cap at the end of the tube would resolve the problem, which is what I think they did for the 590.
 
dont be "gentle" with it. Rack the gun like you mean it. Never had a problem doing it that way.
If your gentle with the gun it will operate funny. I have two "bergs" and know what your talking about.
