mossberg 500 shell plug removal problem

So I was pretty annoyed that my new mossberg 500 had a 2 shell limit plug so decided to remove it, after struggling to unscrew the shell holder tube with no luck I decided to poke the plug from the loading side, it worked the little stick jumped out the other end. YAY!! i put the gun back together tried to load my shells, and the spring now gets stuck...........All I can say is wtf, it seems that the little plastic base is too wide or the shell tube is too narrow once you get past the 2 shells. Has this happend to anyone else?

I had one stick once. I bought the gun, it was about 20 years old. The guy sold it to me cheap because it stuck sometimes. I took the follower out and lightly sanded the edges. Works like a charm now.

One of the little rubber rings on the wooden dowel might have fallen off into the magazine. Happened on a Mossberg 500A .410 I bought.
