Mesa tactical side saddle with attached rail. I paid $85 for mine. It attaches via the 4 factory holes on top..plus now you have the rail on top for red dot.

I don't use side saddles. I don't like the imbalance/tilt when handling the gun due to the slight uneven weight on one side.

Yes, they come with a 3M Velcro soft loop side that adhere to the side of your receiver. It will not damage your parkerized or blued finish, and can be removed with a bit of heat from a blow dryer should you decide to replace worn out loops.
The shot card has the hook side sewn onto heavy scuba webbing.I like to trim the corners on the receiver side round with scissors to prevent any possible peeling at the edges. All S&J shot cards come with an alcohol pad so you can clean the side of your receiver for a good bond.

So for a bolt on which is better for the price is mesa a lot better than the tacstar ? There is quite a price difference. I am leaning toward bolt on more than removable but s&j's seem to be extremely popular and a great pricepoint

Tacstar is better for the price , mesa if you want bragging rights and to look down your nose at others.

I have both , the mesa looks better ,but the tacstar works better at holding shells , have one on one Mossberg 590 for over 20yrs now .

Having spent 20 years building defensive shotguns, I have seen and used them all
All and issues and some are better than others
The issue with mesa is if left loaded the shells will fall out
Tac star, when cold the plastic is too stiff and the shells fallout
The velcro ďsc we make, the issue is slow to reload the shell loops, but the isea is you dont, you grab a fresh one and reload

Ati add a shot halo side saddle 9 shot then put the stock side saddle mount on then the question is what sighting system are you going to put on it...?

We had a tacitcal shotgun shoot in about -26 weather and the Mesa with it's little rubber band worked fine on my 500 but the plastic saddle on my 870 was hard as hell to get the shells out of. As a friend of mine says "Buy once, cry once". I vote you spring for the Mesa Tactical.
