wanting to improve my shotgun a bit and im starting with the stock.
getting to the point when i hold the gun loose in my hand all is well but when i pull it tight to my solder i can hardly reach the trigger.
the stock is the black plastic type that came with the gun and i did cut it down for a shorter length of pull. 13.5 inches for me.

im not a big fella but this is the only gun i have issue with.
as for the useless pistol grip that came with the gun i can reach the trigger fine.
i also got an on sale m4 style sliding stock and no prob with the trigger.

i was looking at buying one of those hogue 12 inch LOP stocks
but just looking for advice before i start spending money.

thanks.

I have a hogue 12" on my shorty pump. It is fine with slugs and bucks where you can square up to the target, but really too short to swing around.

My beretta with no shim measures at 13.25 and is about right for me when im all jacketed up. I am 5'8 for reference.

thanks for the replies. im about 5'7 so I would prob find it too short for clays. I was thinking one of those butt pads that slip over the stock would bring it up to 13 if need be.
how do you like the hand grip on the Hogue?

Have a Hogue 12 LOP, brand new, never used. No butt pad though, stole it for another project years back (you could put your OEM on it)
PM me if interested, give ya a good deal, get ya a trader rating as well.

The grip on the hogue shortens the trigger reach over the factory.

Just sold one on the EE, but they are available in the standard LOP.

Or SGA.

The Magpul SGA is the stock you want. Mossberg's have a long reach from the grip to the trigger due to the action release mechanism being located to the rear.
Pistol grips improve the reach to the trigger at the expense of making the Mossberg controls a bit harder to manipulate..... the Magpul stock's grip angle and location is perfect for the Mossberg and you can adjust the length of pull with the spacers. It's expensive and often sold out, but it's the solution to your problem and the best stock I've ever tried on a Mossberg.

magpull looks like the answer to my situation and I cant find anything bad about them. im not in a big hurry so ill keep my eyes open.
they are around on a google search but feel free to list sites you guy prefer.
I was thinking I had a pretty dumb question but thanks for all the replies.

bringing up an old post incase someone comes across it.

the magpul sga came in today. pretty simple install, i like the way it shoulders and can reach the trigger perfect now.
i installed 3 spacer for i think 13.75 inch length of pull.

i was reluctant to spend that much on a stock but after handling it i can say i got what i paid for.

thanks for everyone's help on getting the right stock for my situation.

Thanks for the update Jay!
Once you actually handle a Mossberg with the SGA stock, the extra $50 or so is just money well spent. Mossberg should probably cut a deal with magpul and make it a standard item.
