IMO for less money than you spend on having it threaded for chokes (keep in mind you still need to buy the chokes), and buying/installing ghost rings you can buy a Grizzly from Can-Am that has those features already. having owned both, the Grizzly is at least as good a gun as the Mossberg 500.
the old lady freaks if I have to many firearms in the house (why ?, I don't know). Got to work with the platform I started with![]()
You could always sell the mooseburg and buy the grizzly?

i would hazard a guess that 99% of women cannot tell the difference between a synthetic stocked Mossberg 500 and a synthetic stocked 870 clone. the trick is not to let them see them both in the same place.
my g/f has no idea i have as many guns as i do because i stash them in different places: some are lent out, some are in the safe, some are in a closet, a couple at the cottage, etc.
if she saw them all in one place shed have a conniption fit.
First off, deal with the old lady now not later.
And always remember its easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.
+1 on the Grizzley platform, had a 500atp, good gun but I sold it for a loss and went to a Griz mag with zero regrets so far.
But for the sake of curriousity, what exactly do you expect a choked 18.5" barrel to do?
To me the simplicity of the original barrel should be the tacticool way to go, less parts means less thinks to potentially go wrong.
