Hi im Greg I got my pal a year ago now and have been having lots of fun target shooting with my ruger 10/22. But now im looking to buy my first shotgun. Iv been looking at the mossberg 500 persuaders and I just have question about them. I just wanted to know if different choke sizes can be put in a cylinder bore shotgun ? Im not going to be hunting with it at all , its just going to be used at the shooting range and im kind of looking into starting skeet. So I just want to make sure I can put a skeet choke in the gun if i do start skeet. If not could anyone recommend a good fun shotgun that can take different chokes for around $300 to $350.

Thx you

The Persuader has a fixed cyl. bore choke, meaning that screw chokes cannot be used...unless you but Mossbergs combo setup.
This is from their website;

The widest range of versatility comes from our broad selection of Mossberg® 500® Combos in 12 or 20 gauge. With its two-barrel combos, Mossberg® pioneered the idea that a shotgun can provide more than just one season of shooting and hunting enjoyment.

The 18-1/2" barreled home security shotgun becomes a hard-hitting bird gun when the 28" combo barrel is installed. For deer hunters, vent rib and fully-rifled slug barrel sets are an unbeatable value. Our patented Dual-Comb® combos add the advantage of quickly and easily changing stock dimensions between high comb for scope sighting and low comb for wingshooting. This year, we've expanded your choices to include 12- or 20-gauge Combos in Mossy Oak® New Break-Up® and a new .50 Cal. Muzzleloader/12-Gauge Slug set.

I hope this helps some.

it's possible with the persuader that the muzzle is oversized. if this is the case, then you can't be set up for screw in chokes. a trip to your local gunsmith, where he can do an inside micrometer measurement can confirm this.this is quite common with short barreled "riot" and "slug barrels". perhaps your best course of action is to go to their two barrel combo system as huntsman mentioned
