I am looking at getting the Mossberg 535 in realtree. The package I am after has 3 barrels......24" rifled deer barrel, 28" field barrel and a 22" turkey barrel. It is chamered for upto 3.5" shells. It comes with a few assored chocks as well. The pakage comes to about $650ish with tax. I am looking for a good pump 12g that I can hunt pretty much anything I want with it.....from turkey-deer/moose-grouse/bunnies-coyates. I think the 535 will cover me for all these espcially with the 3.5" chamber. Does this one fit the bill? Any info on them? Personal experice?

*also there is a 28" waterfowl barrel you can buy for this too....

Thanks, UTAF

Bought one of these last fall, except only got the 28" barrel with it. It's a fine shotgun. Only major downfall is the stock - I find it much too light which after a day of shooting clay can make the recoil seem on the high side.

535 3 barrel is great, I have only patterned my turkey barrel since getting it this spring.... Looking forward to baggin a gobbler next month.

It is light, so there is some recoil, but having to shoulder it and wait for the damn bird to come by, I prefer the lightweight.

the 535 in realtree is a nice gun. they shoot well and you can put all ammo though them since they take up to 3.5" ammo. a good gun for deer and bear during shotgun only hunts.

i have the 535 trkey with a deer barrel as well and i am very happy with this gun i have shot several turkeys and lots of deer with it .i us it for bunnys as well as ducks and geese .it has never failed me and i drag it threw h l hunting bunnys chasecing dogs and you do not have to us 3.5inch shells all the time i only us them for yotes and turkeys some times i will us them for geese as well but most times 3 inch is fine .it is nice to have the ability to us the 3.5 if needed and thy do lay a turkey out i love it .recoil can be a bit hard on you at times but some weight in the stock and a good pad will help .you can not go wrong with the 535 .i donot thing that the 870 express can keep up with the 535 DUTCH

i have the black waterfowl variant, its a great gun. i have put through about 6-700 rounds in it, although there isnt much for acessories for it but i find it balanced for me.

you could also take a look at the remington 3 barrel combo package as an option. a retailer in SW ontario has that combo on special as well. i am no expert on either gun, i don't even have my pal yet (taking the course soon) but in doing some reading it looks like the advice is to look at a few and see what fits best. the price on the 870 trio combo will come in right around where that combo is as well. pm me if you want the store, im not sure of the rules about posting stores and spamming and all of that.

LeBaron's is offering this combo for approx $550. I suggested it as a starter gun for a friend, and we went to check it out. I ended up walking out with another CZ....

Awesome choice, yes they're a little light for heavy loads-i slapped on a limbsaver. Finish is durable, action is unrelenting. I'll check in a bit but is the waterfowl barrel cro-moly lined and the field barrel isn't?
