Mossberg 590 barrel options?

If I had a 6 shot 590 that I wanted to press into field duty with a replacement barrel, can anyone confirm that an 835 Ulti Mag barrel would fit? They seem to mount in the same manner, so I would think if the mag tubes were the same length barrels would be interchangeable?

I have used my 6 shot 590a1 (18.5" bead) with a 28" 835 barrel on it to take 7 ducks and 8 geese so far this year. Shoots 3" steel loads great. My favourite beat around gun for sure.

Thanks for the reply, I had read they were compatible but wanted to confirm with someone that had done it. Now to decide whether I "need" a 500 field/security or a 590A1/835 combo. Cheers.
