Mossberg 590 jamming issues.

Hey; did a search but didn't find anything relating (I'm probably just inept at using the search feature though), so here we go.

I have a Mossberg 590 stainless. The Issue I'm having though is with short brass (primarily, but not limited to, Winchester target loads) after firing, they are very difficult to eject. My guess is it is due to short brass and they are expanding in the chamber slightly. Regardless, it takes a lot of force and jerking on the pump to finally eject them.

So my question is, is this a common issue for a Mossberg 590? Is this just a "break-in" thing that will go away? Or is there some other target ammunition that I can use that I wont have these issues with?

I've had the exact issue (exact ammo too) with my Mariner 590... Unfortunately the extractor actually chews up or lets go of the case rim all together, cycling the action but leaving the shell jammed.

I've been told to polish my chamber... I find Federal Field and Skeet 100 box from CT work fine...

Pegged this post for interest!

This sounds like a similar problem with the Rem.870 express...by polishing the chamber
in your Mossy and keeping it clean ( subjective as to what is clean ) you likely will not have any more extraction troubles.
It is a simple task. a small wooden dowel , some 200grit sand paper or emory cloth and an electric drill and a quick lite touch is all that is needed.

It is the Ammo, not your gun.......that cheap ####e aluminum head on the cheap shells swells, and gets stuck in a tight chamber. You can try polishing the chamber, but my bet is it will still jam.......buy some better shells. You can buy decent shells for less money by the flat at most gun shops.
