Mossberg 590a1 action binding

Not sure if this is related to the previous post about the cartridge stop as I am also having failure to feed issues but my action is also binding in the open position. This is happening when loaded and on an empty chamber.

Has anyone experienced this?

Could a really bent cartridge stop be causing this? Or do I have two problems? The gun has been reliable up until today.

Check to see if your heat shield is in place and screws are tight.

Do you mean that the action won't return into battery without some resistance?

Yes. It requires quite a bit of force to get the action to close again.
